Examples: moving an Iris species from subgenus Limniris to subgenus Xyridion, or from series "Sibiricae" to series "Chinensis" is not a new combination, it is a different expression of taxon hierarchy opinion that does not affect circumscription (and thus *neither* LinneanCoreNameIdentity nor TCS issues). The same is true for redundant changes in infraspecific hierarchy (moving a variety from one subspecies to another within one species). -- 4 Nov. 2004 %META:TOPICMOVED{by="GregorHagedorn" date="1099216289" from="UBIF.NewCombination" to="UBIF.LCNewCombinationDiscussion"}%
