||

||
Each dataset in an SDD document must include some metadata about the dataset. The dataset metadata typically describes such things as source, ownership, copyright, versioning etc for the dataset.

Metadata is stored in two places within an SDD instance document. The [[TechnicalMetadata][<TechnicalMetadata>]] element under [[SddDatasets][<Datasets>]] provides information about the processor that created the SDD document. Information about the dataset itself (or more accurately, the dataset from which the SDD document was created), is stored within the [[DatasetMetadata][<Dataset>]] element.
